Tomczyk tops final practice
Audi scored a 1-2-3 in the final practice session ahead of qualifying for the DTM finale at Hockenheim on Saturday morning, with Martin Tomczyk leading the way
The German, who won his first DTM race at Barcelona a couple of weeks ago, was almost on lap record pace, despite the fact the track was soaking wet at the start of the session. His top time was 1:34.821, just a tenth off Bruno Spengler's lap record.
Christian Abt was second fastest in his year-old Audi, ahead of Mattias Ekstrom. Mika Hakkinen led the Mercedes charge in fourth from Spengler, Frank Stippler (Audi), Pierre Kaffer (Audi) and recently re-crowned champion Bernd Schneider (Mercedes).
