Paffett predicts '07 Mercedes win

Gary Paffett is expecting the 2007-specification Mercedes C-Class to take its first DTM victory this weekend at Lausitz

The 2005 champion won last time out at Oschersleben in a one-year-old car, but he believes that the HWA-Mercedes team will excel this weekend.

"I think this is going to be HWA's weekend," Paffett told autosport.com. "This is a HWA track, they are always fast here."

Paffett won at the track during his championship winning year with the top Mercedes team, and he admitted that he would be very surprised if they did not take their first win of the season on Sunday.

The British driver added that he is not expecting to be able to repeat his Oschersleben win this weekend, as his car is running heavier due to success ballast.

"The weight hasn't affected us too much," he said, "but it's probably costing us that last little bit that you need to be right at the front.

"I don't think we will repeat the win here, so we will just have to go for points."
