Kristensen Looks to Bounce Back
Tom Kristensen has not ruled out being able to challenge for DTM title honours this season, despite speculation that he was subject to Audi team orders at the last round at Norisring
Kristensen refused to comment on speculation that he was asked by his Audi team to slow down and hinder Mercedes Gary Paffett progress for his teammate's benefit. The Dane believes, however, that he could have finished fourth had he not slowed down so significantly.
Despite loosing ground to Paffett and Mattias Ekstrom in the title race, Kristensen has not given up hope. He is currently third in the DTM standings on 28 points - 16 points behind leader Paffett.
"They scored points and that has gone now," Kristensen told Autosport-Atlas. "I am just saying that from now on I will just continue, drive my pace and try to win some races.
"I know the speed and consistency is there, I made my life difficult in Oschersleben," Kristensen added, referring to his stall on the grid while on pole, "and this now [at the Norisring]. I was at the front when the Safety Car had come.
"I had two bitter pills to swallow and I hope I get better medicine later."
