Carroll targets points at Lausitz

Adam Carroll is aiming to score his first DTM points this weekend at Lausitz after his ninth place finish at Oschersleben

The Ulsterman was happy with his performance in the second round of the championship, and he is hoping that he can continue to make progress as he gains more experience in the series.

"My aim for this weekend is to get in the points, it has to be," said Carroll. "I'm ready for this weekend and looking forward to it."

Carroll feels that Oschersleben was effectively his DTM debut, as he only lasted three corners in the season-opener at Hockenheim before he was involved in the huge accident on the first lap.

"Oschersleben was my first DTM race, and it was the first race of any kind that I've had for nine months," he told autosport.com.

"Maybe we could have been in the points, but I feel I got the maximum out of the package. Now we've got to go to Lausitz and make another step forward."

Carroll will also benefit from having the lightest car in the field this weekend, as the 2005-spec Audi's will be able to run another seven kilograms lighter than in Oschersleben due to Paul di Resta's second place finish in a 2005-spec Mercedes.
