BMW moves Farfus, Glock, Martin in 2016 DTM line-up reshuffle

BMW has revealed changes to the composition of its DTM line-up for this year, with Augusto Farfus, Timo Glock and Maxime Martin all switching teams

Farfus has ended an association with the RBM squad that stretches back to 2010, when he joined Bart Mampaey's team for the final year of BMW's World Touring Car Championship programme and also included his first four seasons in the DTM, from 2012-15.

The Brazilian, DTM runner-up in 2013, has moved over to the MTEK team to join Bruno Spengler.

Farfus replaces Glock, who had raced for MTEK for three years after moving to the DTM from Formula 1 but will now partner 2014 champion Marco Wittmann at RMG.

Glock and Wittmann were previously team-mates at MTEK in '13 before the latter joined Stefan Reinhold's RMG team for his championship-winning campaign.

Martin moves from RMG to RBM, joining his fellow Belgian Mampaey's outfit as team-mate to Tom Blomqvist.

BMW announced in December that it would be retaining the same eight drivers for 2016.

The only one of BMW's four DTM squads that keeps its 2015 pairing is Schnitzer, with Antonio Felix da Costa and Martin Tomczyk.

"It has always been our philosophy to create new impulses by systematically varying the line-ups within our four DTM teams, and thus to get the absolute maximum out of our overall package," said BMW motorsport chief Jens Marquardt.

"We have had very good experiences in this regard. Because of this, we are confident that we will achieve success again with the changes for the coming season."

Like BMW, Audi will retain the same eight drivers it had last year. It has made one tweak to its line-up, with Nico Muller and Adrien Tambay swapping seats.

Mercedes has yet to announce any of its 2016 drivers.
