Turner takes maiden win in race 2
Darren Turner has won the second BTCC race at Croft after trading places with Jason Plato at the chequered flag
Turner had originally been leading the incident-packed race, but gave way to his SEAT teammate Plato to let him record an extra point for leading the race. As the pair completed the final lap, they swapped back, to allow Turner to score his first BTCC victory.
"The regulations say that you get a point for leading the race, so we swapped earlier on," Plato explained after the race. "But you never take a first win from a driver, and we don't have team orders."
Mike Jordan, in an older BTC-spec Honda Integra, came home third ahead of BMW driver Mat Jackson.
Pole-sitter Colin Turkington had led the race for the first few laps until he locked up due to oil on the track and ran wide. He soon became involved in an incident at the hairpin and retired from the race.
Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal - starting from second and third on the grid respectively - both had a difficult race.
Neal failed to take the start, though came out later on in the race, while Shedden retired with a steering problem.
