SEAT sweep Silverstone front row
British Touring Car teammates Jason Plato and Darren Turner once again locked out the front row in qualifying for SEAT
Plato took his third pole of the season at Silverstone this afternoon, while Turner completed SEAT's fourth consecutive one-two in the final minute of the session.
Turner's time, 0.144 slower than Plato's, knocked Colin Turkington's BMW off the front row.
Tom Onslow-Cole and Matt Neal were next up in their Vauxhalls, with Steven Kane completing the third row with the best qualifying performance of his BTCC career.
Also impressively posting career-bests were Turkington's teammate Stephen Jelley and Robertshaw Racing's Harry Vaulkhard, seventh and eighth respectively.
Tom Chilton and Andrew Jordan completed the top ten with championship leader Fabrizio Giovanardi (carrying 45 kg of ballast) was only 11th.
After struggling with straightline speed in practice, Team Halfords changed the engine in Gordon Shedden's Honda, only completing the work as qualifying was getting under way.
The Scotsman then had a brief off at Brooklands and qualified in 15th - his worst grid spot of the season. Mat Jackson didn't fare much better in 14th.
