Robertshaw eye RML Chevrolets
Robertshaw Racing are in talks with Chevrolet's works team RML about buying a pair of their current Lacettis to run in next year's British Touring Car Championship
The Tyneside-based team currently have a pair of 2007-spec, ex-WTCC cars in addition to a Honda Integra that is being campaigned by Alan Taylor this season.
"Although we're only halfway through this season, we're already committed to preparations for 2009 and beyond with Harry Vaulkhard and Alan, and we still have the opportunity for a third or fourth driver to join the squad," said team principal Gary Robertshaw.
The team are running only one Lacetti for Vaulkhard in this week's official Dunlop tyre test at Snetterton as they are yet to find a full-time replacement for Matt Allison, who left the team after Donington.
Additionally, Taylor's Honda is yet to be fully race-prepared after his heavy crash at Croft last time out, and will not be seen until the Snetterton race weekend in July.
Robertshaw lie ninth in the BTCC teams' championship with Allison having taken their best result of the season with an eighth place in the third Brands Hatch race at the start of the campaign.
