Plato makes it two out of two

Jason Plato and SEAT made it two out of two at Knockhill as he won the second BTCC race of the day

He led all the way from pole position, beating series leader Fabrizio Giovanardi by 1.3 seconds.

Plato's seventh win of the season helped him reduce Vauxhall driver Giovanardi's championship lead from 39 points to 35 with seven races to go this season.

Behind the first two, Giovanardi's teammate Tom Onslow-Cole came third, completing a repeat of the race one podium.

Gordon Shedden was fourth thanks to a smart overtaking move on Mat Jackson at the hairpin on lap five. Jackson finished as the top Independent in fifth, with Rob Collard and Colin Turkington right behind him completing a trio of BMWs.

Next up was Darren Turner. The SEAT driver started down in 18th after retiring from race one, but steadily picked off his rivals at Duffus Dip lap after lap, and set the fastest lap on his way to eighth.

Andrew Jordan was ninth and will start on pole position for the final race of the day in his Honda, while Matt Neal completed the top ten in his Vauxhall having started down in 16th.
