Injury sidelines Bell for Snetterton
Martyn Bell will miss this weekend's British Touring Car Championship round at Snetterton due to an injury sustained during a recent holiday
The Tech-Speed Honda driver suffered knee ligament damage in a fall and has been instructed to rest for the time being by doctors.
"I've been carrying a back injury since my accident at Snetterton last season which I'd just sorted out and I was training hard to make sure I was in the best shape possible for the second half of the season," said Bell.
"Unfortunately, I had a fall while on holiday with the family in Turkey and have damaged the ligament in my left knee. It's an injury I have had in the past and there is no chance of me being fit enough to drive the Honda this weekend.
"It's a real shame because I was looking forward to getting back in the car and was confident that we could show the kind of form we had back at Brands Hatch."
Bell's injury means Paul O'Neill will be Tech-Speed's only representative at Snetterton. Bell intends to return to racing in time for the following round of the championship at Knockhill.
