Andrew Jordan buoyed by first Motorbase Ford BTCC test at Brands
Andrew Jordan is confident of a successful 2016 British Touring Car Championship season with Motorbase Performance after his first test in the team's Ford Focus ST at Brands Hatch
The 26-year-old has switched from the factory MG team to the Kent-based squad for the fresh campaign and completed a full day's running at Brands Hatch on Wednesday in the Ford EcoBoost-powered car.
"I was bowled over by how good the car was," said Jordan.
"I know you'd expect me to be saying things like that, but it is genuinely true. I couldn't stop smiling.
"The car was very compliant and did everything I wanted it to. It reacts really well to driver input and you can really get the most from it."
Motorbase's 2015 racer Mat Jackson, who won four rounds in a part-season, was also on hand at Brands and drove the car too.
"I got on great with Mat as well," said Jordan. "We have a similar style and we like the same things from the car, which is only going to help us in the future."
Motorbase Performance team manager Oly Collins said that Jordan slotted in to the team well.
"There are certain elements about Andrew that we were 100 per cent confident about, like his ability and speed," said Collins.
"But whenever you test a new driver for the first time you are a little bit unsure about exactly how they are going to fit in.
"Andrew was a dream to work with and his feedback and professionalism shone through. I think there are some exciting times ahead for Motorbase."
