Rob Austin Racing to run two Audis in Croft's BTCC event

British Touring Car squad Rob Austin Racing will run both its Audi A4s at the Croft round of the championship this weekend, for Rob Austin and Will Bratt

Austin started the season in the NGTC machine, but had to miss Oulton Park earlier this month due to damage sustained at Thruxton.

RAR ran single-seater convert Will Bratt in the second Audi at Oulton, and will now field the two cars alongside each other for the first time in 2012.

Austin said: "It was at Croft last year the Audi started to show what it might be capable of and, 12 months on, it's a much faster car.

"I'm confident Will and I will be competitive this weekend. We're both very capable drivers and we know the Audi is a very fast car which, due to some bad luck, just hasn't been seen yet. Croft is a rear-wheel-drive friendly circuit so hopefully this could be where it finally happens."

A former single-seater racer himself, Austin believes Bratt will push him hard.

"It probably will be Will who's ahead!" he added.

"This is about properly establishing the team in the BTCC and ensuring it remains in the championship well into the future. Will could have a very successful touring car career ahead of him and if that's the case then I hope it's with RAR."
