Priaulx upbeat despite struggle
Reigning World Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx says he is far from disheartened about losing the title lead after a disappointing weekend in Zandvoort
The Briton finished eighth in race one to secure pole for the second race, but then saw victory slip through after eventual winner Gabriele Tarquini nudged the Briton wide, dropping him to fifth.
That result meant that Priaulx slipped from joint championship leader to fourth overall in the standings - but he insists that he will head to the next race in Valencia encouraged by the improved pace shown by his car.
"I am happy with my BMW Team UK car, as we have found some more speed since our first races in Brazil two months ago," said Priaulx.
"Thanks to the ballast rules, ours was not the lightest of cars and I think there is still more to come from it.
"I feel I should have and could have won the second race, but this just makes me even more motivated for our next races in Valencia. I am feeling positive and focused."
