Porteiro completes BMW double
Spaniard Felix Porteiro gave BMW a clean sweep of this weekend's Oschersleben round with his victory in race two
Porteiro took the lead at the start, and his initial progress was helped along when a number of other frontrunners, including the SEAT of Tiago Monteiro, tripped over each other at the first corner.
When the dust cleared, Tom Coronel was leading the pursuit in his petrol-powered SUNRED SEAT, and the Dutchman spent the laps that followed applying constant pressure to Porteiro in the hope of an error by the Spaniard.
The mistake came when the BMW driver slipped on gravel that had been dragged onto the track in the latter stages, but the time that it cost him was not enough to allow Coronel to find a way past.
Chevrolet's Rob Huff earned his second podium of the weekend by surviving the first-corner mess and then picking his way methodically up to third, but the real excitement was happening a bit further behind him.
Still smarting from the disaster of race one, Andy Priaulx produced a scintillating drive from the rear of the grid to finally cross the line fifth.
Priaulx took the final position by when he capitalised on the race-long battle between SEAT's Jordi Gene and race one winner Augusto Farfus by slipping past his teammate when he went slightly wide after tapping Gene's bumper.
The Independent class win went to Proteam's Sergio Hernandez, who ran strongly amonst the race leaders over the entire distance.
