Muller confirms Aussie V8 enduro deal

Vauxhall British Touring Car Championship star Yvan Muller has confirmed he will contest the late season endurance races in the Australian V8 Supercar Championship this year

Muller, who drove for the Holden Racing Team at Bathurst two years ago, will join Honda BTCC driver Andy Priaulx in the second Kmart Commodore for the VIP Pet Foods Queensland 500 and Bob Jane T-mart Bathurst 1000 races, the pair partnering regular team drivers Greg Murphy and Todd Kelly.

"We are delighted that Yvan, who is a truly professional and seasoned driver, has agreed to join Kmart Racing for this year's endurance races," said Kmart Racing team manager Rob Crawford. "Two years ago, Yvan drove for HRT at Bathurst and despite never having been to Mount Panorama and the race being run in the most treacherous conditions ever seen there, he brought the car home in tenth position.

"He has the experience and he knows what to expect and I am confident that he and Andy will be able to, firstly, assist Greg Murphy and Todd Kelly in their championship efforts, and produce results for Kmart Racing," he added.

Muller will join the team for a test session at Winton Raceway in Victoria the week prior to the Queensland 500, which takes place at Queensland Raceway on September 13-15.
