Subaru switch to BFGoodrich for '07

The Subaru World Rally team have announced that they will use BFGoodrich tyres from next season onwards

The move brings to an end a lengthy partnership with Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli, who has been their tyre supplier since 1994.

It will bring Subaru in line with the rest of their main opposition in the WRC, which the team hope will improve their fortunes after having a year to forget in 2006.

SWRT managing director Richard Taylor said: "We're looking forward to working with BF Goodrich. It will be interesting to go head-to-head with our competitors on the same rubber.

"Up to now, we have been unable to accurately benchmark our performance."

Taylor also paid tribute to Pirelli, who has been so influential in Subaru's past successes.

"I'd like to express my gratitude to Pirelli for all of their efforts since 1994," he said.

"All of our 46 WRC wins with the Impreza have been with Pirelli and the company has been instrumental in helping us to six world championships."
