SS15, Stirling West: ...And again

There seems to be no stopping Marcus Gronholm on Rally Australia, as Peugeot's Finnish star wrapped up another fastest stage time on SS15, the 15.89km Stirling West test

Gronholm outpaced Peugeot team mate Didier Auriol by 6.2secs, and increased his overall lead at the head of the rally by another 7.4secs over Subaru's Richard Burns, who was third quickest on SS15. He is now 24.4secs clear at the front of the field.

Harri Rovanpera (Peugeot) maintained his fourth position overall with the fourth fastest time, ahead of Ford's Carlos Sainz. Subaru's Petter Solberg extended his advantage over Tommi Makinen (Mitsubishi) in sixth, the gap going out to 11.5secs.

Colin McRae is tigerishly holding on to his fifth place for Ford, but lost another 17.1secs to Gronholm and is now less than a minute ahead of Solberg. His work has been made even harder now that his 'road sweeper' Francois Delecour is out.
