Solberg vows to attack in Wales
Petter Solberg has promised to attack from the start of Wales Rally GB as the Norwegian tries to end a disappointing season on a high
Subaru have struggled for the majority of this season, although prior to the last round in New Zealand they had shown more competitiveness.
But so far a victory has eluded the team this year, and Solberg is looking forward to trying to put that right.
"It's going to be a big attack from the first metre of the rally," he said. "It's the final rally of the season and there's nothing to lose, it's as simple as that."
The 2003 champion is hoping that the December date for the rally this year will also provide weather conditions that will suit his car.
"I hope it will be a good old-fashioned Rally GB weather, with lots of mud on the stages," he said. "Those conditions would be best for me.
"Our team has lots of experience of how to deal with the tricky conditions, and our tyres have always been competitive on this event."
Solberg has fond memories of Rally GB, where he clinched his 2003 world title.
