Solberg to complete Jordan recce
Petter Solberg will take part in the recce for Rally Jordan this year in preparation for the 2008 WRC event
The rally will be the first based in an Arab country on World Rally Championship calendar next year, and Solberg is hoping that attending this year's event will help him acclimatise to it in 2008.
"I haven't been to Jordan so I'm not sure what to expect of the stages," said Solberg.
"It's always good to try a fresh event for the first time and I'm very much looking forward to getting out to Jordan and seeing the event for myself."
Solberg will head to Jordan with co-driver Phil Mills after competing in Rally Argentina, and while he won't compete in Rally Jordan, he will experience all 18 stages of this year's event.
"Having the chance to recce the roads like this is a great opportunity and the experience of making a set of pace notes will help our preparations for 2008," he added.
The route for the 2008 event is expected to be a variation on this year's event, which means that Solberg could gain some valuable experience of stages that will feature in the 2008 rally.
