Service N - Sotico: Burns settles
Marcus Gronholm (Peugeot) - rally leader: "We had no problems. There are some rocks in the cuts (on the inside of corners). Maybe we are at the limit of how many times these stages can be used."
(Subaru) - second, +36.1s: "The first stage this morning was really hard and I didn't gain much time so there's no point in doing anything ridiculous. Colin (McRae) is pushing hard to catch Harri (Rovanpera) and we're only 2.5s off his time, so I'm quite happy."
(Peugeot) - third, +1m17.9s: "I had no problems in that stage (SS19), but on the one before I clipped a rock. I thought I might have had a puncture, but in fact the wheel had been bent out of line."
(Peugeot) - fourth, +1m30.5s: "I didn't really have any problems, but I didn't remember that stage very well."
(Ford) - fifth, +1m49.2s: "We had quite a big moment. There was a big rock on the inside just after a jump. I tried to miss it and the car took a bit of collecting when it landed."
(Mitsubishi) - sixth, +2m57.1s: The Finn broke his left front headlight on the day's first stage and managed to break the right side on SS19 after clipping a post. "The intercooler spray wasn't working too well, because there was water coming over the windscreen and for the last 15km I had to have the wipers on."
(Subaru) - seventh, +3m22.9s: "It was a good fun stage, but a bit more slippery than the first one this morning."
(Peugeot) - eighth, +4m47.7s: "I was doing left-foot braking all through that stage (SS19) and the feeling is much better. I'm getting more confidence."
(Ford) - ninth, +4m54.0s: The exhaust on his Focus was rubbing on the rear bumper and had to be kicked away as it was likely to catch fire.
"I clipped the back end on one of the banks, but there are a thousand places here where you can clip the banks."
(Hyundai) - 10th, +6m59.8s: "I was braking into a square left junction and didn't get it quite right and spun. We spun right around, but then had to wait for the dust to settle, before we could carry on."
(Mitsubishi) - 11th, +7m21.9s: No problems to report for the Belgian, "everything seems fine," he said.
(Hyundai) - 12th, +7m32.0s: "I was on a long straight and I saw a kangaroo coming along the road. I hoped there wasn't another one as they normally go in twos. I was doing about 160 km/h."
