Service G - Imperia: Panizzi cool
Gilles Panizzi (Peugeot), rally leader: "The only problem I had was the paddle gear shift broke in the middle on that last stage. I had to use the manuel shift instead. Otherwise, it's going well. With Philippe Bugalski and Jesus Puras not there anymore, I don't have to take so many risks."
(Citroen) - second, +39.7s: "I'm very happy at the moment. It's a good fight with Didier [Auriol]. Conditions are nice, the roads are not too dirty. Maybe I could find a little more speed. That would mean taking risks and I definitely want to finish."
(Peugeot) - third, +42.4s: "We are taking risks of course, but I'm not doing anything stupid. On the first of those last two stages there some corners where you could take a lot of cuts, but I stayed in the middle of the road."
(Peugeot) - fourth, +1m06.9s: "My gearbox started to change up automotically on the last stage. It wasn't nice, but it wasn't a massive problem."
(Ford) - fifth, +1m17.3s: "I had a puncture on the San Bernardo stage where you cut the corners a lot. The mousse in the tyre worked as well as it does, but it is not perfect."
(Subaru) - seventh, +1m33.3s: "I'm really happy with my first scratch time on tarmac and I know I can go even better if we get rid of the understeer."
(Ford) - eighth, +1m46.3s: "Stalled at the start of SS9. Lost six or seven seconds trying to get away.
(Ford) - 10th, +3m05.5s: "It's just got better. The car is working as it should. We've rectified the problem we have had for a day and a half. We can still try for the manufacturer points, but the chance of drivers' points has gone completely out of the window."
(Mitsubishi) - 11th, +3m20.6s: "We have a little problem with the rear differential now. It's heating up more than it should. We will try to do something now. We will also change the suspension because the car is rolling too much at the front."
