Service G, Felindre: Notes, quotes

Marcus Gronholm (Peugeot) - leader: "We've got a good pace. The car is good, even in the fog I can go quite fast."

(Subaru) - second, +1:09.6s: "There was thick fog there so I backed off a bit. I can see a lot of spectators and marshals at the end with their thumbs up which is nice. We'll see what happens and I'm keeping my fingers crossed as well."

(Peugeot) - third, +1:26.2s: "There were some rocks in the road and we hit them very hard. My first feeling is that something is broken, the steering is out of line."

(Ford) - fourth, +2:59.8s: "It was fine. There was a little bit of fog."

(Ford) - seventh, +5:06.9s: "We're not going to catch Alister McRae unless he has a problem - but we had a problem this morning. I'm getting about 50 per cent of the corners right now."

(Peugeot) - ninth, +6:01.1s: "It was foggy and I was not driving nicely. I didn't push."

(Skoda) - 10th, +6:34.9s: UPDATE: Has tried softer tyres and said that they were working well.

(Mitsubishi) - 11th, +7:37.1s: The Belgian has retired on the road section to SS11. On SS10 the car started jumping out of gear again leaving only first, second and sixth gear working. The team changed the shifting mechanism and he left service, but more in hope than expectation.
