Service C - Imperia: Leaders bullish
Gilles Panizzi (Peugeot) - rally leader: "We changed the suspension at the front and now it's perfect. I'm back to a solution I've tested before."
(Citroen) - second, +0.5s: "The first stage (SS3) was OK. In the second one (SS4) the pace notes were a little bit cautious. I could have gone faster - in some places I could have been two gears higher."
(Peugeot) - third, +11.2s: "Now things are better. I was better on the brakes that time. I don't know (if I can win), we're still there and still fighting. I'm finding places in my notes where I can go quicker."
(Citroen) - fifth, +21.6s: "The car is working well, but I pushed too hard on SS3 and I lost time sliding around too much. In SS4 I was neater and I went fastest. The set-up is good but it's still possible we can make this car better.
(Citroen) - sixth, +24.3s: "I had a bit of understeer in the first three stages. We made a change to the suspension and now it's better. I'm trying not to take any risks, but it's obviously good to be fighting with people like Tommi and Colin."
(Ford) - seventh, +28.8s: "I don't know how we can make the car quicker."
(Ford) - eighth, +33.8s: "No problems. It's better, for sure, than in Spain, but still not enough. But we knew that before the start."
(Subaru) - ninth, +44.0s: "It's going average. We had a gearbox problem - it went into safe mode and it took longer to change gears. I had a lot of understeer, but I'm glad to be so close to Francois."
(Ford) - 13th, +1m01.6s: "We've still got a differential problem playing up a little bit. It's intermittent - it's locking up on the front on the handbrake. It's particularly bad in the tighter corners. Normally we should be doing the same times as Carlos and Francois"
(Mitsubishi) - 15th, +1m27.1s: Makinen's co-driver Risto Mannisenmaki said, "The diffs are better, but still not working properly. It's annoying because until we get a clean run we won't know if the car is competitive."
