Rally Jordan chooses Saturday finish
This year's Rally Jordan will be the first event in the modern era of the World Rally Championship to finish on a Saturday
The decision to move away from the traditional Friday to Sunday format is to fall in with the Islamic weekend on Friday and Saturday.
The rally organisers are working on a compact route, with the entire April 1-3 itinerary running within 37 miles of the central service park which sits on the banks of the Dead Sea.
Most of the action will run through the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea areas but this year there will be new stages north of Amman. The organisers of the third round of this year's series are planning a high-profile start for the event and will reveal details in coming weeks.
Absent from the calendar last season, Rally Jordan, the Middle East's first ever WRC round, will be keen to impress this season as Abu Dhabi sets out its stall for a WRC event with a candidate event in December this year.
The 2010 Jordan Rally will run as a round of the FIA Middle East Championship as well.
