WRC support series announce entry
A total of 21 drivers and teams have registered for the FIA World Rally Championship's three support series this season
The Production Car WRC remains the most popular, with reigning champion Armindo Araujo leading an 11-strong field into the season.
The P-WRC year starts on the opening round, next month's Swedish Rally. Araujo and the Ralliart Italy team which runs his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X is one of the four teams registered to compete in Karlstad. P-WRC runners have to tackle six from the nine rounds.
The P-WRC numbers have swollen this season with the inclusion of the five Pirelli Star Drivers (Nick Georgiou, Peter Horsey, Hayden Paddon, Alex Raschi and Ott Tanak) - but none of those five will appear in the P-WRC before Finland in the middle of the season.
The all-new WRC Cup for S2000 teams also starts in Sweden, with four competitors starting this new series for Super 2000 machinery. Competitors in this championship have to start seven from 10 WRC rounds this season - with the year's finale, Rally GB being the most popular: all six teams start in Wales.
The Junior World Rally Championship has turned out its lowest field ever, with just four entries for the six-round series. On four of those six rallies this year, only three cars will start the J-WRC.
The Junior series gets underway on the fourth World Rally Championship round of the season in Turkey.
