Loeb not concerned with GB win
Sebastien Loeb does not expect to take his first Rally GB victory in this year's finale, as he is not prepared to take unnecessary risks in Wales
The reigning world champion moved into the lead of the WRC drivers' standings with his victory in Rally Ireland, and he now only needs fifth place in the final rally of the year to secure the title.
Loeb's title rival Marcus Gronholm crashed out for the second rally in succession in Ireland last weekend, and the French driver is not prepared to get sucked into a battle for a rally win that he doesn't need.
"It's too stupid to try to win and to take all the risks in our position, to fight with Marcus," Loeb told the WRC website.
"I don't think (the win) will be this time. I will have to play for the championship."
Loeb added that he surprised himself with how relaxed he was in Ireland once Gronholm had retired, but he said that he had started last weekend's event determined to go flat out from the start.
"In Ireland I had to be in front of Marcus, I had to go as fast as possible," he said. "But after Marcus went off, things changed a lot for us."
