Gronholm tops Cyprus test
Marcus Gronholm set the pace in his Peugeot 307 WRC on the official Cyprus Rally shakedown stage as crews made final set-up adjustments to their cars ahead of tomorrow morning's first competitive stages
Most crews only completed a handful of runs through the stage as teams work to catch up with their preparation schedules in the wake of the delays caused by the late arrival on Cyprus of the ferry carrying all the cars and team equipment.
World Champion Petter Solberg, who won this rally last year and the latest 2004 WRC round in New Zealand was second quickest for Subaru, ahead of Citroen's veteran Spanish star Carlos Sainz.
Ford's young Belgian driver Francois Duval was fourth quickest, while Sebastien Loeb in the second Citroen and Harri Rovanpera in the second Peugeot rounded out the top six.
