Cowan predicts tough time for Peugeot
Mitsubishi Ralliart boss Andrew Cowan believes that Peugeot's domination of the World Rally Championship will come under threat on the upcoming rallies this summer
The French team has steamrollered the opposition so far this season and the leads the manufacturers' championship by an impressive 41 points. However, Cowan thinks that starting from next weekend's Rally Argentina Peugeot won't have things all its own way.
"I think there are a lot of difficult events coming up, starting with Argentina, then the Safari and the Acropolis," Cowan told WRC.com. "And then Finland is a very specialised event, there are good Finns in other teams - so I don't think Peugeot will have such an easy run from here on in."
Mitsubishi has so far struggled this season with the Lancer World Rally Car, but Cowan hopes that Rally Argentina will be the event where the team can get its 2002 campaign back on track.
"I know Argentina very well and anything can happen there," he said. "It can be wet, dry, foggy whatever. But I think if we get comfortably into the points it will be a very satisfactory result for us."
