Burns: I've never had it so good

Reigning world champ Richard Burns reckons he's never been in a better championship position coming into Rally Argentina and believes he can go even quicker in the Peugeot 206WRC this weekend

Burns starts Rally Argentina on Friday lying third in the championship with 19 points and has finished on the podium on the last three rallies. At this point in his title-winning year, the Englishman had just three points and one finish to his name.

"This is probably the best position I have been in when coming to Rally Argentina," said Burns. "It is a very nice rally for me. In the last three years I have had fantastic results here. Peugeot is very well suited and it can have good performance."

Peugeot can expect tougher competition on Argentina's fast gravel stages than it has had on previous rounds this season, but Burns believes the French team's record of consistency this year will stand it in good stead when the event gets underway on Friday.

"Ford and Subaru were very fast in Cyprus," admitted Burns, "but Peugeot was again the fastest, which shows it is reliability and consistency that made the difference. I think we can be more competitive in terms of fastest stage times in this rally."
