FIA approves 14-round 2016 World Rally Championship calendar
The World Motor Sport Council has approved a 2016 World Rally Championship calendar containing 14 rallies
As outlined on Wednesday morning, a returning Rally China features on the list, however it is subject to meeting FIA requirements stemming from a candidate rally held earlier this year.
Monte Carlo and France are also subject to terms being finalised between event promoters, WRC Promoter and the FIA before November 30.
The WRC manufacturers remain opposed to the schedule growing from this year's 13 rallies to 14.
No dates have been attached to the events, with Argentina, Australia - set to become the season finale, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden the other events.
In regulation tweaks, lead 'priority' WRC drivers will run at the back of the priority group when they rejoin a rally under Rally 2 rules.
To score full points, drivers will need to contest a minimum of 51 per cent of the rally itinerary.
In the junior classes, the S2000-Rally 1.6T car will have its restrictor size reduced from the start of 2016, to make R5 the top specification car within WRC2.
The FIA Production Car Cup will cease at the end of this year, while regulations governing supercharged engines will be introduced for Group R2 machinery.
