Johansson: Epsilon need dry running

Stefan Johansson is expecting a difficult time in the second Epsilon Euskadi LMP1 car if the day's changeable conditions continue into this evening's qualifying sessions

His No.21 Epsilon, which he is sharing with fellow former Formula One drivers Jean-Marc Gounon and Shinji Nakano, was a late addition to the race when the No.30 Racing Box Lucchini LMP2 Lola was excluded from the event after scrutineering.

But the car missed much of yesterday's first qualifying session with an alternator problem and the drivers were not satisfied with the handling of the car in the evening's later session.

With rain forecast for tonight's sessions, Johansson is worried that they won't get sufficient dry running in to ahead of the race.

"I'd really like to have some more drying running to get the car figured out before the race starts," he told autosport.com. "It needs a lot more sorting out but if it's wet we can only make sure we're comfortable in the car and see how things go.

"The target is just to finish the race, that would be a huge achievement in these circumstances."
