H23: Audi edge closer to victory
Audi are still on course for victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with one hour to go, while the No. 7 Peugeot has retired from the race
Nicolas Minassian tried to rejoin the race in the second 908, but the team withdrew the car when the Frenchman brought it back to the garage after just one lap.
The entire track is now very wet, although the huge downpour didn't cause too many incidents through the field initially.
Marco Werner is still driving the No. 1 Audi, but even the dominant leading car had a minor off when Werner went straight on at the first chicane on the Mulsanne straight.
Allan Simonsen had a far more dramatic incident at the same place, as the Dane tried to negotiate his Porsche between the tyre walls on the escape road, before he ploughed straight through a set of tyres.
Luc Alphand spun his Corvette at the esses before Tertre Rouge, although he eventually rejoined the track and is still seventh in GT1.
LMP2 leaders Binnie Motorsports have brought their Lola into the garage to perform maintenance on the car, but providing they get back out on track for the finish they will take the class honours.
The No. 009 Aston Martin continues to lead the GT1 class, although David Brabham is lapping considerably slower than the Corvette of Ron Fellows who is one lap down.
The Imsa Performance Porsche is still comfortably leading in GT2, and Patrick Long has dropped his pace considerably compared to other cars in the class as he bids to protect their advantage.
