Anthony Davidson puts Peugeot on pole for Zhuhai Intercontinental Le Mans Cup race

Peugeot driver Anthony Davidson claimed pole position for this season's Intercontinental Le Mans Cup finale at Zhuhai in China

The Briton recorded a best time of 1m21.760s during the 20-minute qualifying session, edging out Peugeot team-mate Stephane Sarrazin by 0.075 seconds. The best of the two Audis ended up third on 1m22.038s in the hands of Tom Kristensen.

Davidson, who shares his Peugeot 908 with Sebastien Bourdais, said: "I had to work really hard to get back ahead of Stephane. It was a good lap, but not my best."

The top petrol-powered LMP1 was the Rebellion Racing Lola-Toyota coupe driven by Neel Jani. He ended up 0.7s ahead of Olivier Pla in the best of the Judd-powered OAK Pescarolos.

GT Pro class honours were claimed by the Schnitzer BMW driven by Jorg Muller. The German headed AF Corse Ferrari driver Gianmaria Bruni by 0.4s.
