ACO release final entry list
The Le Mans organisers have released the complete entry list for the 2006 24 Hour race
A preliminary 38-car list had been issued in January, with the ACO promising to announce the rest of its selection after the Sebring 12 Hours event.
Le Mans entries are traditionally awarded to teams who have supported the event in the past, or who commit to affiliated championships and events such as Sebring, the Le Mans Series and the American Le Mans Series.
The majority of the additions are in the LMP1 class. Most significantly, Audi's diesel powered R10 has unsurprisingly been admitted following its historic Sebring triumph. The factory Joest team will run two of the new cars.
Only one of Creation Autosportif's Judd-powered chassis has been awarded a place on the main list, with the other as first reserve.
The second factory Zytek entry - which would have featured Johnny Herbert on its driver strength - has not even made it into the reserve group.
Both the works Courage and the Swiss Spirit entered car have been admitted, as has Jan Lammers' Racing for Holland Dome and Chamberlain-Synergy's LMP1 Lola, all of which showed promising form at this week's LMS test.
Rollcentre Racing have been granted an entry for one of their two new Radical LMP2 cars, with the other placed second on the reserve list behind Creation.
