HVM Status joins ELMS for Imola as it eyes full season
The HVM Status GP squad has bolstered the LMP2 entry for the next round of the European Le Mans Series and could compete in the remainder of the championship
Status has entered its Lola-Judd/BMW B12/80 for the Imola ELMS race on May 19 ahead of its second participation in the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.
Silverstone-based Status, which linked up with IndyCar team HVM over the winter, had planned a full World Endurance Championship campaign, but was forced to pull out in April after failing to find the necessary funding.
Status commercial director Tim Scott said: "We are doing Imola and then the Le Mans 24 Hours, and after that we will be devising our plans for the rest of the season.
"Where we will race isn't exactly clear, but we are looking to do the remainder of the ELMS. We have one driver who wants to participate in the series and we are working to put that deal together."
Drivers have yet to be confirmed for the Status Lola at either Imola or Le Mans. Jonathan Kennard is listed against the car for both races but is unlikely to be among the drivers.
Status will announce the two drivers for Imola early next week. At least one will be on its Le Mans roster.
