5h54m Ah. Here he is. Davidson is getting out of the car and has handed over to Marc Gene.
5h53m Nope. I was wrong. Those tyres were for Pedro Lamy's #9 Pug.
5h51m Looks as if Davidson is about to get some new boots. But Fassler just did a lap seven laps slower than the Briton, so the Peugeot looks fairly comfortable.
5h50m Neel Jani pits from seventh and the lead of the petrol cars.
5h48m Just seen a gentleman from Peugeot looking at the sky. He can only have been admiring the view because it's a lovely night.
5h47m Luhr has just brought that Flying Lizard Porsche in to the pits.
5h46m Davidson just lost three seconds to Fassler on that last lap as the gap dropped to 19s. Still to early to know whether Audi's superior race speed can beat Peugeot's economy drive.
5h45m The #66 JMW Ferrari comes in to the pits. That's eighth in the GTE class right now with Tim Sugden at the wheel.
5h43m Major disaster here in the press room. We've run out of Snickers bars. There is a suggestion a senior magazine writer may have eaten them all...
5h42m He's now past the orange Flying Lizard Porsche. Which is a shame because I was enjoying that!
5h41m Garcia, known as El Matador by his team-mates, is chasing back through the field in the second Chevrolet having been caught behind the safety car after McNish's shunt.
5h40m Lucas Luhr and Antonio Garcia are having a cracking batte for fifth in the GTE class.
5h36m Richard Westbrook still leads GTE Pro in the #74 Corvette. But though he is a minute back Andy Priaulx is keeping him honest in the BMW.
5h35m Dominik Kraihamer is still leading the LMP2 class for ORECA by the way. He's got a lap's advantage over Karim Ojjeh in the Greaves Zytek.
5h32m Mike Rockenfeller is fifth while Loic Duval is sixth in the ORECA Pug.
5h31m Davidson is now leading by 18s from Fassler. Those two are a minute up the road from #9 Lamy and #8 Minassian Pugs - which are circulating within a couple of seconds of each other.
5h29m The leader of the race is back in the pits. Fassler gets a screen clean and some more fuel as Davidson takes the lead again.
5h27m Neel Jani is back in the lead of the petrol class currently and running seventh overall in the Rebellion Lola.
5h24m Fassler is currently 44s ahead of Anthony Davidson. Pedro Lamy is third in the #9. Nicolas Minassian is running fourth in the 'French' Peugeot.
5h22m Romain Dumas has just branded some of the drivers in the GTE Am 'terrible and very dangerous'. The Frenchman spun trying to pass traffic.
5h21m A story on that from Andy Priaulx has gone into the mix, so look out for that.
5h21m BMW have told our pit pounder that they don't plan to triple stint their tyres anymore but will err on the side of caution.
5h17m The ORECA Peugeot, which has now dropped a lap down to the factory cars, pits in from sixth.
5h16m Romain Dumas brings in #1 Audi and hands over to Mike Rockenfeller who is having a purple patch of form currently and recently scored his first DTM win. He needs a strong stint to recover the ground the car lost to the nose change earlier.
5h15m So Fassler has now completed 77 laps and leads from Davidson's Peugeot.
5h14m While all that was going on Davidson sneaked in for a fuel stop. He is now 43s behind Fassler's Audi.
5h13m Meanwhile the #73 Corvette that had assumed Vilander's position in the class has now pitted with Antonio Garcia at the wheel.
5h12m Vilander has now been pulled out of the gravel.
5h10m He was third in class in the GTE Pro class in the fastest AF Corse Ferrari.
5h09m Toni Vilander has gone straight on at Mulsanne Corner.
5h09m It gets a full service as it now heads off in pursuit of Romain Dumas, who has moved the #1 Audi back up to third.
5h08m Simon Pagenaud brings in #9 Pug to hand over to Pedro Lamy. That car was running third.
5h07m Michael Wainwright is driving that car, which is the AMR Gulf Aston. It's still running third in the GTE Am class. We like that team - they helped us out with a set of jump leads earlier in the week!
5h06m #60 has also spun at the end of the Ford Chicane as well.
5h06m Wolf Henzler spins the #77 Porsche on the way in to the pits. Looked as if the right rear wheel was loose.
5h04m We've heard that McNish is back at the circuit by the way. Good news, though apparently he's been happier.
5h03m Things have settled down a bit now. Difficult to know whether the Audi fast pace or the Peugeot fuel saving pace is the right way to go.
5h01m Fassler is now 14s back from Davidson.
5h01m Shots of Dindo Capello and Audi PR man Martyn Pass chatting in the Audi garage. The good news is that Allan McNish appears to be injury free after his monumental shunt. Which so far, has been the biggest story of the race.
4h59m The two Audis, in second and fourth, are lapping in 3m30s. The Peugeots are running two-three seconds slower at the moment. On the other hand they are lasting a lap longer than the German machines over the stint.
