Three teams confirm line-ups
The line-ups of three V8 Supercar teams have been completed with Will Davison, James Courtney and Jason Richards confirming where they will be driving in 2009
Will Davison will take over the seat vacated by the retirement of Mark Skaife at the Holden Racing Team, joining Garth Tander who joined HRT at the start of last year.
Davison moves to the team after three seasons at Dick Johnson's Jim Beam Racing, scoring two race wins on his way to fifth in the championship last year.
"It's a wonderful honour to drive for the Holden Racing Team, the absolute highlight of my career to date," Davison said. "HRT is the elite motorsport outfit in Australia and the team every young driver wants to join.
"It is renowned for its professionalism and has a proud track record of success. I can't wait to be a part of that."
Jim Beam Racing have also confirmed their line-up, with James Courtney joining Steven Johnson after leaving Stone Brothers Racing at the end of last season, also having spent three years with the team, taking his maiden win as he finished sixth just behind Davison in the 2008 title.
"Everything the team has done in preparing for 2009 has impressed me and I couldn't be happier joining a team with such great Australian history," said Courtney. "I am confident we will be a frontrunner in this year's Championship and Jim Beam Racing is well prepared to win races. That is my focus for 2009."
Further continuing the links between Davison and Courtney's team moves, Courtney's former place at Stone Brothers Racing was filled late last year by Will's younger brother Alex, making a comeback to V8 Supercar after disappointing results a few years ago.
Jason Richards will join Cameron McConville at Brad Jones Racing after leaving Sprint Gas Racing late last year. He will partner Cameron McConville at the Holden team.
Richards's departure has seen the return of Jason Bargwanna to the top level of V8 Supercar racing again as teammate to Greg Murphy at Sprint Gas Racing.
The two drivers have not always agreed in the past however, notably following an incident at the 2002 round at Phillip Island which saw Bargwanna's car destroyed after contact from Murphy's car soon after the start.
Both drivers were penalised, Murphy excluded from the race results while Bargwanna was fined for comments he made about Murphy relating to the incident.
