Tander wins again in race two

Toll HSV Dealer Team's Garth Tander won race two at Queensland Raceway after again taking the lead from Mark Skaife at the pit stops

Tander started on pole but Skaife led Tander and Jamie Whincup into turn one. In the early laps Skaife came under siege from Tander and Whincup, with some defensive driving preventing Tander from making it past.

But a slow pit stop for Skaife was costly, costing him over ten places. This released Tander, who took the win ahead of the Team Vodafone duo of Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes despite a mid-race safety car period.

James Courtney continued the run of Fords at the front, with Will Davison, Russell Ingall and Mark Winterbottom making it six Fords in the top seven, just ahead of the recovering Mark Skaife.

Having finished in the top four placings in every race before this round, a seventh in race one for Rick Kelly had been his worst result all year.

But a drive-through penalty soon after his pit stop dropped Kelly near the rear of the field, and despite a charge back up the order to 16th place Kelly took no points from the race due to this year's revised points structure.
