HRT locks out front row for race two
Holden Racing Team's Garth Tander and Will Davison have locked out the front row for the second race of the Dunlop Townsville 400 on the streets of Townsville
Davison topped the times with seven minutes remaining in the session, before Tander went even faster two minutes later, no-one getting close to Tander's time in the remaining five minutes.
Race one winner Jamie Whincup finished the session in third, just behind Davison, with James Courtney recovering from his disappointment in race one to set the fourth fastest time.
After a poor qualifying for Saturday's race, Ford Perfomance Racing's Mark Winterbottom did much better today and set the fifth fastest time, with Michael Caruso and Shane van Gisbergen hot on his heels, Jason Bright, Craig Lowndes and Fabian Coulthard rounding out the top ten.
After pole yesterday, Lee Holdsworth didn't show quite as well in today's session, 13th fastest, just behind Rick Kelly, who qualified well ahead of team-mate Todd who will start 20th.
After making the shootout yesterday and with team-mate Courtney at the pointy end again today, Steven Johnson had a poor qualifying and will start 22nd, still two places better than Steven Richards who qualified 24th.
