Winterbottom claims race two pole

Ford Performance Racing's Mark Winterbottom followed up his podium finish in race one with pole position for race two of the QueenslandHouseandLand.com 300 at Queensland Raceway

Winterbottom took pole with two minutes remaining in the 20-minute session, just edging out Fujitsu Racing's Jason Bright who took his first front row starting position in nearly three years.

Finishing one-two in race one, Jamie Whincup and James Courtney will start race two from the second row, just ahead of Will Davison and Craig Lowndes who both failed to finish race one. Fabian Coulthard, Russell Ingall, Garth Tander and Steven Richards complete the top ten on the grid.

After finishing fourth in race one, Steven Johnson will have a bit more work to do in race two, starting from 12th position just ahead of Shane van Gisbergen.

Both Garry Rogers cars struggled in the session, Michael Caruso 15th and Lee Holdsworth 17th, as did the Kelly brothers in 18th for Rick and 21st for Todd despite both putting in strong performances in race one.
