A total of 13 full-season entries have been received for the Prototype class of next year's inaugural United SportsCar Championship.
The entry in the top category of the the 11-round series is split between six upgraded Daytona Prototypes, five LMP2s, the works DeltaWing and one team that has yet to specify which kind of car it will run.
There are a further four entries in the P class for the four-race North American Endurance Championship, which includes the season-opening Daytona 24 Hours on January 25-26.
The numbers are comparable to the entry for last year's Rolex-sponsored Grand-Am series, which has merged with the American Le Mans Series to create the USC for 2014.
The DP entry at Daytona in 2013 was 16 cars, while 14 were present at the season-closing Lime Rock round.
Scott Atherton, boss of the USC sanctioning body IMSA, said: "Our Prototype class showcases the merger of the ALMS and the Rolex series with a variety of terrific cars from both series, in addition to a few new entries."
Five-time Grand-Am champion team Chip Ganassi Racing returns with a solo Riley-Ford DP entered for all 11 rounds, as does 2012 Daytona winner Michael Shank Racing.
Ganassi will, as usual, field an extra car in the enduros that make up the NAEC.
Chevrolet is represented by Grand-Am stalwarts Wayne Taylor Racing, Action Express and Spirit of Daytona with Corvette-bodied DPs.
The GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing team, Grand-Am champion in 2007 and '09, has not made a full-season entry and will compete only in the four enduros at Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Indianapolis with its Corvette DP.
OAK LEADS LMP2 CONTENDERS
The French OAK Racing team has bolstered the P class with a solo LMP2 entry alongside the two-car entries from the Extreme Speed Motorsports HPD team and the SpeedSource squad with a pair of factory-backed turbodiesel Lola-Mazdas.
OAK will run one of its open-top Morgan-Nissan LMP2s before its Ligier-badged coupe comes on stream during the course of the season.
Pickett Racing, overall winner of the ALMS for the past two seasons, has been granted an entry for the full season in the P2 class but has yet to announce the car it will run.
8Star Motorsports has abandoned plans to mount an attack on the P class with one DP and one LMP2, although it is on the reserve list, and will concentrate on a two-car entry in the Prototype Challenge class alongside team boss Enzo Potolicchio's continued involvement in the World Endurance Championship.
Twelve cars will contest the PC category for the one-make ORECA-Chevrolet FLM09.
Chevrolet, SRT/Viper, BMW, Porsche and Ferrari are all represented on the 10-car full-season entry for the GT Le Mans category, formerly GT in the ALMS.
There are 28 cars registered for the GT Daytona division, formerly Grand-Am's GT class, including two for the NAEC and one for Daytona only.
The combined entry for Daytona next month is 68 cars, the largest field since 2007.
