Heidfeld aiming for home score draw

Sauber is confident of producing a strong performance at this weekend's European Grand Prix to consolidate its fifth place in the constructors' standings.

The team started the season strongly, but has not finished in the top six since the Spanish GP back in April. In the meantime, Jordan and Giancarlo Fisichella have started to find their form and are gradually racking up the points.

However, in front of his home fans, Nick Heidfeld is looking to redress the balance and add to his tally of five points this season.

"I like the Nurburgring and I am confident that the Sauber will be well suited to the track," he said. "It would be really nice to give a good result to the team and to the fans who have always supported me."

For the first time in three races, Felipe Massa will be returning to a circuit he's raced on before; in fact the Brazilian won the European F3000 round at the Nurburgring last year.

"I'm really quite excited to be going back to the Nurburgring," he admitted. "I'm sure I'm going to be very competitive this weekend."
