Van der Ende reopens title battle
Ricardo van der Ende took an excellent victory in the Formula Ford race at Snetterton and moved back into title contention in the process
Championship leader Nicolas Kiesa led initially but retired with gearbox problems. Van der Ende, racing at his Van Diemen team's home circuit, fought his way to the front and stayed there, despite a safety car period wiping out his lead. An incident involved Mark Taylor and Peter Gray caused the yellow, but Ricardo was able to pull away again and secure his third win of the year.
Former team mates Tom Sisley and Marcos Ambrose battled for 2nd, followed by Craig Murray in another of the Haywood Mygales and Van Diemen no.2 driver James Courtney. Jesper Carlsen drove another fantastic race to drag the sole Vector into the top six.
