Kenseth takes Busch pole at Kansas

Matt Kenseth claimed pole position for the Busch Series race at Kansas Speedway, heading a top-three sweep in qualifying for Roush Fenway Racing

Kenseth set a lap of 31.394 seconds at an average speed of 172.007mph, taking his second consecutive pole at the 1.5-mile oval, as he had been on the top spot a year ago before finishing second to Kevin Harvick in the race.

Greg Biffle and dominant championship leader Carl Edwards rounded up a great run for the Roush Fenway team, while Kenseth got his second front-row starting spot of the weekend as he will be second on the grid for Sunday's Nextel Cup race.

Jeff Burton was fastest of the Chevrolets in fourth place, ahead of Joe Gibbs' Denny Hamlin and Hendrick's Kyle Busch, while a fourth Roush Fenway car driven by Jamie McMurray was seventh.

AJ Allmendinger had a good qualifying after failing to make the field for the Nextel Cup race in his Red Bull Toyota. He will start the Busch race from the fourth row of the grid in the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Dodge.

His Nextel Cup teammate Brian Vickers, who didn't qualify either for tomorrow's race rounded up the top ten of the grid as the fastest Toyota and will be starting beside Hendrick's Casey Mears.

Defending race-winner Kevin Harvick qualified 16th driving this weekend for his own team, while David Reutimann, who is second in the championship, will start the race from 31st.
