Hall of Fame Racing join Toyota

Hall of Fame Racing has become the latest team to join the expanding group of Toyota teams in the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup

Since Joe Gibbs Racing announced they were switching to Toyota earlier this year, HoF Racing have been expected to follow suit. The team have been getting technical support from JGR, running cars and engines from them in their single car effort.

Hall of Fame are set to continue their alliance with Gibbs entering the 2008 season, bringing up to five the number of Toyota teams from only three that the Japanese manufacturer had in its maiden season at NASCAR's top level.

"I've had the good fortune of working with Toyota in the past. Toyota is an industry leading company and an exceptional partner who is committed to winning," said Tom Garfinkel, owner of HoF Racing.

"We're also thrilled to continue our relationship with Joe Gibbs Racing - a first-class organization who has been supportive of us from day one."

JJ Yeley, a current JGR driver was announced back in August as the driver of the No. 96 Hall of Fame car, currently driven in most races by Tony Raines.

He will be one of at least five Toyota drivers racing in next season's non-points opening event, the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona in February.

"Hall of Fame Racing has a great platform for success with Jeff and Tom as owners and J.J. behind the wheel," said Lee White, Senior Vice President of TRD.

"They're committed to building a great organization and are allocating resources in the right areas to achieve that goal."

At least ten Toyota Camrys will enter the 2008 Daytona 500, with at least five of them guaranteed a place on the grid for the season opener.
