Busch takes Gateway Nationwide win

Kyle Busch extended his lead in the NASCAR Nationwide Series by taking his sixth victory of the season in Saturday night's race at Gateway

But the Gibbs Toyota driver was helped by misfortune for Kevin Harvick, who dominated most of the event only to run out of fuel in the closing stages.

Long-time leader Harvick (Kevin Harvick Inc Chevrolet) was at the head of the field with just 28 laps to go when his tank ran dry and he had to coast back to the pits, losing several laps in the process.

Busch emerged in front when the field pitted under yellow a few laps later, and then fended off Reed Sorenson's Braun Racing Toyota to secure the win.

Carl Edwards, Busch's main title rival, changed all four tyres on his Roush Fenway Ford at the final stops and rejoined fifth, from where he could only come back through to third, ahead of Mike Bliss, Brad Coleman and Stephen Leicht.

There was misfortune for Jason Leffler, who was running behind Harvick when the leader ran out of fuel, but chose to pit just before the yellow was called shortly afterwards, leaving him ninth at the flag.
