Kevin Korjus retains Tech 1 Formula Renault 3.5 seat
Formula Renault 3.5 race winner Kevin Korjus has confirmed that he will remain with Tech 1 Racing for a second season in the category
The Gravity management-backed driver scored three wins in his rookie season with the Toulouse team last year, and participated in the Formula 1 young driver test in Abu Dhabi with Renault.
"I will be back with Tech 1," said the Estonian. "The preparation work for the season has already started with some Gravity organised simulator work at iZone in England."
Renault-Sport is introducing a new car for 2012, featuring a bespoke Zytek engine in place of the outgoing Nissan derived unit and an innovative DRS system. The delivery of a first batch of cars has commenced.
Tech 1 Racing team manager Sarah Abadie said: "At the end of 2011 we knew that we would continue with Kevin. We have got a new car in our workshops now. Everything is better, the build is very nice and the carbon is very good.
"We had received some plans of the car from Renault Sport to allow us to start some work on the simulation, but nothing too deeply. We really need to put the car on the track and verify the information to ensure that we not do make any mistakes."
The first Formula Renault 3.5 tests begin in March. Tech 1 expects to announce its second driver shortly.
