Bourdais focused on enjoying race
Sebastien Bourdais has said that he wants to enjoy himself this weekend as he tries to clinch a third straight Champ Car title
The Frenchman only needs to finish ninth on Sunday to be sure of the championship, and become the first driver in more than fifty years to win three Champ Car titles in a row.
However, he has said that his main focus is on enjoying the weekend at Surfers Paradise.
"I'd be happy to repeat last year's race where we clinched the championship with a win," he said, "but I just hope we enjoy ourselves, that is our main focus."
Last year Bourdais only needed to start the Australian race to seal the title, which meant he could race hard for victory.
"Last year was great because we could relax and just focus on racing," he said. "I just hope that this year we are on the pace straight away."
Only AJ Allmendinger and Justin Wilson can still beat Bourdais to the title, and both have admitted they are more focused on their battle for second because of the gap to the championship leader.
