Christopher Zanella tops first F2 practice at Spa

Having won the previous race at the Nurburgring, the Swiss driver picked up where he left off, setting the fastest lap with 10 minutes of the session remaining.

Zanella opted to only go out once in the 45-minute session, and after bedding in new brake pads for the first three laps, promptly outpaced Alex Fontana.

Fontana would remain second until the end of the session, less than two tenths behind his compatriot.

Newcomer Vittorio Ghirelli impressed to finish third quickest ahead of Markus Pommer. Championship leader Luciano Bacheta could only manage fifth quickest, with Kevin Mirocha and Matheo Tuscher behind.

Dino Zamparelli was the first of the Brits, edging out Daniel McKenzie for eighth place, with a strong performance from Parthiva Sureshwaren saw the Indian driver complete the top 10.
