Summary

Status: Stopped
So that's a wrap from us this weekend, which yielded a feel-good home pole position for Valentino Rossi and a very feel-good home victory for Jorge Lorenzo.

Marquez, after his blunder, will be grateful that it was Lorenzo who won - rather than somebody nearer in the standings - but his Mugello crash will send the alarm bells ringing all the same.

Can he bounce back in Barcelona, another track that has not been so kind to Marquez in the past? If he does, it's crisis averted. If he doesn't, it's game on for the title.
MotoGP Mugello: Lorenzeo takes first Ducati win as Marquez crashes
Lorenzo: "Well, a lot of people say that my method was not right - and I said that I just needed to feel more comfortable, to save more energy.

"And finally when the team gave me some new fuel tank that I feel more comfortable, as I said before, on Thursday and Friday, I could keep a more constant pace. And finally today nobody could catch me, I could win like I won.

"And it's like a dream, to win here with Ducati is like a dream."
Dovizioso: "Not 100 percent [happy]. I think we did a wrong decision about the front tyre, I saw Valentino lose the front three times in front of me and I couldn't push from the first lap.

"Me and Valentino, I think I did the wrong decision. We couldn't stay with Jorge, he did a really perfect race - and in the end I also finish the rear, but the limit was also the front.

"But this weekend was very difficult for us, and at the end we're going home with 20 points. So the championship is looking a bit better.

"I want to say thank you to Ducati, because first and second is really nice at Mugello, and the power on the straight helped us."

Rossi: "I'm so happy because was a very difficult race. We have to race with the hard tyre and we know what would be hard, because especially on the front I struggle very much.

"But at the end for me was the right choice, because in the second half of the race, the ones on the soft start to suffer on the right so I can push.

"In the end Iannone give me the fight to the last lap, I have to push at the maximum but I'm so happy - because to be back on the podium here in Mugello was the target."

Championship standings (top 10): 1 Marquez, 95; 2 Rossi, 72; 3 Vinales, 67; 4 Dovizioso, 66; 5 Zarco, 64; 6 Petrucci, 63; 7 Iannone, 60; 8 Crutchlow, 56; 9 Miller, 49; 10 Lorenzo, 41.
So, does this change anything for Lorenzo's Ducati future? Rumour has it that it probably won't, that Andrea Dovizioso's new teammate for 2019 has already been picked out.

But if here begins a farewell tour, well, it's a brilliant start.
Lorenzo plants his flag in the gravel in front of a red grandstand - probably wise not to do it in front of Rossi fans.
Finishing order: 1 Lorenzo; 2 Dovizioso; 3 Rossi; 4 Iannone; 5 Rins; 6 Crutchlow; 7 Petrucci; 8 Vinales; 9 Bautista; 10 Zarco; 11 P Espargaro; 12 Syahrin; 13 Rabat; 14 Smith; 15 Morbidelli; 16 Marquez; 17 Simeon.
The sixth win from the last eight MotoGP races at Mugello - but a first one with Ducati, and a first one since Valencia 2016. Take a bow, Jorge Lorenzo.
Dovizioso ran out of steam late on and finishes only just ahead of Rossi. Iannone fourth, Rins fifth.
He's suffered, he's struggled, his reputation has taken a beating - but Jorge Lorenzo is back on the top spot!
Rins is all over Iannone, trying to stick the knife in as a farewell to his departing teammate.
Rossi has put some track between himself and Iannone, he should be able to hang on for third.
A lap to go for Jorge Lorenzo. He's done a ridiculous race here, running every lap but the very final ones in the 1m48s margin.
Two laps to go. Iannoen goes for it down the inside of Rossi at San Donato again, he can't hold the line and Rossi is back through once more.

Petrucci's not having fun out there - Crutchlow has got through and he's now having to worry about Vinales and Bautista.
Aleix Espargaro has pulled into the pits, promoting Marquez to 16th.
Three laps to go. Iannone all over Rossi for third, Rins could soon be with them.
Current order: 1 Lorenzo; 2 Dovizioso; 3 Rossi; 4 Iannone; 5 Rins; 6 Petrucci; 7 Cruthclow; 8 Vinales; 9 Bautista; 10 Zarco; 11 P Espargaro; 12 Smith; 13 Rabat; 14 Syahrin; 15 A Espargaro; 16 Morbidelli; 17 Marquez; 18 Simeon.
Iannone goes for Rossi at Turn 1, slides down the inside, goes way wide and allows the Italian back through. They're now somewhat clear of the rest, with Alex Rins following in fifth.
Lorenzo now four seconds clear. Four laps separate him and a shock win that would mean oh-so-much.
Rossi trying to make a break for it here in third place. Vinales and Bautista and are now pretty much with that group.
Rins and Petrucci both get a "Mapping 3" message on their dashboards, and then Rossi and Iannone pass Petrucci.
Six laps to go, Lorenzo is two seconds clear.
Rins has dropped two positions somewhere, and now it's Rossi all over Petrucci for third.
We've got a five-rider battle for third on our hands - Petrucci is towing Rins, Rossi, Iannone and Crutchlow along.
As bad as Vinales' race is looking, he and Bautista are now lapping faster than anyone but Lorenzo and Dovizioso.
Rins is now the big threat to that Ducati 1-2-3 - Petrucci has not managed to break away from the bikes battling behind him, and Rins could yet bother him for third place.
Rins gets Rossi for fourth.
An update on Vinales - he might have cleared Zarco, but his pace is kind of terrible, and instead of catching up the pack ahead, he's having to fight off Alvaro Bautista.
Lorenzo has pulled out his lead to a second and a half out front.
Alex Rins has looked nowhere near Iannone all weekend - but being ahead in 10 laps' time is what will count, and Rins is putting in a serious shift. He's all over Rossi now!
So, Iannone's medium front - soft rear selection has not held up, it seems. Remember - Lorenzo is running that very same selection out front.
Rossi is back through Iannone, who is all over the shop. Rins is now through as well.
Hello Ducati 1-2-3 at Mugello. Another 11 laps to go for a dream podium lock-out in the marque's home grand prix - but will it be headed by a rider who's almost certainly leaving at the end of the year?
Rossi gets him but runs wide. In one corner, Iannone is back past, but Petrucci overtakes both.
Iannone's strong race pace is not materialising at all. He's all over the place, running wide time and time again, and is now well back from Dovizioso. A first win with Suzuki is not happening here.
